During the previous quarterly meeting of the Floriculture Sustinability Initiative the sector figures of 2022 and the results of the first quarter 2023 from the Sustainable Sourcing Scan were presented. Wesley van den Berg, manager at Floridata, provides every FSI-quarterly meeting an overview of the results of the sustainability performances of the purchased volumes by FSI members, based on the FSI basket of standards. To make the sector risks even more insightful, the sector dashboard has recently been further expended. The aggregated results can now be split into product countries and product groups as well, which in turn provides more insights and improvement possibilities.
Based on the sectordashboards the FSI members together with Floridata identify the points for improvements, that FSI members can focus on. The main target is to achieve 90% sustainable purchase in 2025 and at least as important, to prepare for the new legislation where 100% transparency and traceability is necessary.
For the FSI-members the Sustainable Sourcing Scan is very valuable. The tool is available for everyone, so do not hesitate and join in!
